More Kids in More Schools

This is the recently renovated school in Mabuya, the only school in our target area with a decent building. Mabuya is in the middle of our target area, and there is no well there. Mabamba, a few miles away, has a well and a pastor who is able to teach, but the walls of the mud-brick school collapsed. The same thing happened in Thonkomba. There were no furnishings in the building. Kids brought mats from home or sat on rocks.

Children in rural villages have very limited access to education. Great organizations like Street Child Sierra Leone are working to change that by building and equipping schools and training qualified teachers, but so much more needs to be done. We want to do our part. Our long-shot goal is to build a school in Thonkomba Village where we expect to drill a well in the near future. If we can do that, maybe we can build a school in Mabamba too.
